Would we charge a rechargable battery using the solar rays or would we run it on solar power alone.

We have a dehumidifier and we really want to make it solar powered. I had some problems i recommend using some sort of switch to automatically turn it off below a certain voltage. Solar panels are dc. We just need help in the way to power it.

If you want to run it at night you will need batteries too. If you have at least 500 square feet of photovoltaic panels in good condition and a high capacity sine wave inverter. Figure out the right charge controller. I d take the dehumidifier out of there if it gets really hot.
